Jeremiah Thoronka

Jeremiah has a Bachelor’s of Arts (Hons) in Global Challenges from the African Leadership University, Kigali, Rwanda. He also has a Certificate in Conservation Leadership from the School of Wildlife Conservation, Kigali, Rwanda. He is currently interning at Solar Cold Chain Logistics Engineering. He is responsible for managing the logistics of a US-based social benefit company with an overall mission to provide renewable energy solutions. So far, he has been researching, developing and designing solar systems and cold chain logistics elements for the advancement of efficient cooling systems in emerging markets. He has also worked as a Junior Associate for Renewables in Africa, United Kingdom, where he managed a Clean Energy Engineering Consultancy and Media platform. He was a Summer Journalism Fellow for Business Today, U.S.A. In this role, he created, edited and shared energy-related articles on the online journal with over 10,000 monthly readers and collaborated with other Fellows from 6 different continents to develop and maintain high-quality by-weekly newsletters. He is Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld and former President at the Student Energy African Leadership Chapter. He has been awarded 10 awards, some of which are: the Commonwealth Youth Award for Excellence in Development 2021 – Africa, the United Nations (UN) Academic Impact Millennium Fellow, United Nations, and the Millennium Campus Network; Borderless Youth Forum Alumni of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes, and The Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ). He has been published a total of six times with pieces in Business Today Online Journal, ALU Global Focus Journal and Renewables in Africa (RIA).
