Himali Gor, an Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, has a stronghold on comprehending urban problems and creating design solutions and strategies. Himali actively works on developing teaching methods and approaches at Anant, emphasising problem-based learning, collaborative projects and multidisciplinary design exercises for the foundation year students. She also teaches Visualisation and Representation, Elements of Design and technical courses like Technical Drawing and Exploring Design Disciplines. These courses help students develop their hand skills and visualisation capacity and prepare conceptual ideas for correct implementation. Himali also contributes to the examination department as an I/C Assistant Controller of Examination.
Himali holds a Master’s Degree in Urban & Regional Planning from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from APIED, Vallabh Vidynagar. She received a gold medal for her consistent performance during her Bachelor of Architecture. Additionally, Himali also has a Diploma in Architecture from Girls Polytechnic, Ahmedabad.
Before joining Anant in 2014, Himali worked as a Junior Architect for 99 Studio in Ahmedabad and co-founded AV Designs, an Ahmedabad-based architecture and design firm. That apart, she undertook numerous architectural and interior design projects for residential buildings. One of her firm’s best works was published in a renowned design magazine.
Beyond academia, Himali loves exploring new places, cultures and cuisines. She also finds creative expression and enjoyment in experimenting with recipes, learning new cooking techniques and exploring different cuisines. Being a fitness enthusiast, Himali also indulges in various fitness activities like running, swimming, playing lawn tennis and practising yoga.
