Hemang Anglay, an Assistant Professor at Anant, brings over 20 years of industry experience and expertise in developing conceptual processes, design methodologies, visual documentation, system design and photography. As a design professional, Hemang has built strong connections with various design research organisations, studios and advertising agencies across India. Notable names like Saatchi & Saatchi, Nehru Foundation, Centre for Knowledge Societies, Claris Group and Torrent are among his collaborators. His diverse skill set and extensive network highlight his invaluable contributions to the design industry.
At Anant, Hemang’s teaching and research interests lie at the intersections of visual ergonomics, packaging, identity and publication studies. He believes understanding human insights and sharing them with the world is what visual communication is about. And this is what has inspired him to deliver good communication, time and again successfully.
He has completed his PhD from Gujarat Law Society University. With a Bachelor’s in Applied Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Master’s in Visual Communication from DA-IICT in Gandhinagar, Hemang’s academic journey has equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in his career in the design industry.
Before transitioning into academia as an educator, Hemang held a pivotal role at Claris Group, overseeing the design needs across their educational, clean energy and FMCG initiatives. Additionally, he has served as a visiting faculty member and juror at prestigious institutions, such as CEPT University, NIFT Gandhinagar and PP Savani University, Surat.
Beyond academia, he is a passionate traveller, ready to explore and discover new places, cultures and cities. Alongside his love for travel, he has also demonstrated his skill in table tennis, competing at the university level.
