Dr Snehal Jani

Dr Snehal Jani, Associate Professor, Anant School for Climate Action, is actively involved in a variety of academic and research-oriented responsibilities, including applying for research project grants, contributing to the development of laboratory infrastructure, designing and supervising experiments for the BTech students and fellows, fostering interdisciplinary research collaborations, mentoring PhD scholars and publishing high-impact research.

 

Dr Jani brings with her more than 15 years of extensive experience in research and teaching. She has made notable contributions to her field, having published over 30 research papers in highly reputed international journals indexed in Scopus and SCI. In addition, she has authored chapters in books published by globally recognised publishers such as Wiley, Elsevier and Taylor and Francis. 

 

Prior to joining Anant, Dr Jani served as an Assistant Professor in Applied Physics and Nanoscience at Amity University, Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior. From 2013 to 2016, she also contributed significantly as a UGC faculty member under the UGC Innovative Programme at the Department of Physics, MK Bhavnagar University, Gujarat, where she played a crucial role in establishing a master’s programme in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

 

Her academic accomplishments also include the successful completion of three government-funded major research projects, filing of patents, and receiving several prestigious national and international fellowships and awards. Dr Jani was recently honoured with the INSA Visiting Scientist Award for 2023–24 by the Indian National Science Academy, Government of India. During her PhD, she was awarded the Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, for the period 2009 to 2011. 

 

Further adding to her accolades, she was conferred the Madhya Pradesh Young Scientist Award in 2017 by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology for her exemplary research in Physical Sciences. 

 

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr Jani has a deep personal interest in the philosophical exploration of the mind-body connection. She enjoys reading and reflecting on philosophical texts that explore the intersection of consciousness, well-being and the human experience. This passion adds a unique dimension to her scientific perspective and reflects her holistic approach to research and education.
