Dr Bhavisha P Sheth, Head, Aarambh Incubation Centre and Assistant Professor, School of Creative Practices and Entrepreneurship, has built over a decade of experience at the intersection of scientific research, innovation policy and technology commercialisation. Throughout her career, she has engaged extensively with national and international innovation ecosystems, drawing on global best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation.

At Anant, Dr Sheth provides strategic and academic leadership across incubation, innovation and entrepreneurship programmes. She oversees start-up enablement initiatives, industry collaborations and innovation-led projects, while teaching across foundation and entrepreneurship-focused courses, mentoring student ventures and guiding research projects related to entrepreneurship and innovation. She also engages with external academic institutions, industry partners and innovation ecosystems through national and international collaborations.

Dr Sheth earned her PhD in Biotechnology, supported by the UGC Basic Science Research Fellowship from Saurashtra University, with research focused on the molecular characterisation of plants. Her doctoral work was recognised by the Gujarat Science Academy (GSA) with the GSA–CHARUSAT Best PhD Thesis Award (Life Sciences).

Dr Sheth was also awarded the prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, during which she conducted national-level policy research on women entrepreneurship and technology commercialisation at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII).

Before joining Anant, she served as Chief Operating Officer at the Technology Enabling Centre (TEC), BITS Pilani, facilitating IP, technology transfer and commercialisation, as well as industry–academia collaborations. Dr Sheth has also worked as a Project Consultant with an innovation consulting firm, Alien Technology Transfer Pvt Ltd, supporting EU and US-based start-ups and SMEs for securing public funding.

She is a Salzburg Global Fellow of the Japan India Transformative Technology Network as well as a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London.

Dr Sheth has received specialised certifications in Innovation Policy and Intellectual Property Rights from globally renowned organisations, including the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), United Nations University (UNU)-MERIT and NOVA School of Law, among others.

Outside her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys travelling and discovering new places, cuisines and cultures. She has a keen interest in music, enjoys reading and finds challenge in playing chess, which reflects her thoughtful and curious nature.
