Anant National University in Ahmedabad has concluded the New India Vibrant Hackathon 2023. This hackathon served as a gathering point for over 600 students from educational institutions throughout India who convened at the university. Together, they undertook a diverse array of challenges presented by state government and academic institutions nationwide. Anant National University has announced that 30 of its students have earned the opportunity to advance to the Regional Round, thus establishing their distinction on this grand stage, according to an official release.
The Vibrant Hackathon is an open innovation challenge that unites state government bodies and academia to offer a platform for the younger generation to address real-world issues. It featured over 250 problem statements from various government departments and industry stakeholders, covering areas such as climate change, automation, smart policing and healthcare, the release mentioned.
Teams participating in the Hackathon tackled a multitude of challenges, spanning different government departments and industry sectors. These challenges included improving the Sports Games Management System for the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, revolutionising Anganwadi infrastructure with the ‘Swiftangan’ modular approach for the women and child development department, exploring innovative applications for recycled plastics in public spaces for the Municipal Corporation, developing a field diagnostic kit for infectious diseases, and devising sustainable manufacturing processes for textiles, as per the release.
The New India Vibrant Hackathon is organised by the State Education Department and the Student Startup and Innovation Policy of the Government of Gujarat. This event serves as a prelude to the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit, it added.
