About Department

The School of Design at Anant National University houses the Design Disciplines of the University, namely Space design, Product Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, Sustainable Fashion & Textiles, Moving Image and Transdisciplinary Design. Apart from these majors, the school also offers a choice of minors in allied fields a few examples being minors in Design for Health & Wellbeing, Furniture Design, Urban Design etc. The programme educates designers about prevalent global problems and encourages them to propose path-breaking solutions. It facilitates personal development and allows students to explore practical design solutions through learning-by-doing modules.

Required Education Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 03 years of experience in Animation, Multimedia, Communication Design, or related disciplines.
  • Technical proficiency in video editing, motion graphics, sound design, and multimedia tools.
  • Experience in lab or studio management preferred.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

  • Manage the daily operations and scheduling of the Multimedia Lab to ensure smooth functioning for classes, workshops, and student projects.
  • Install, update, and maintain all multimedia software, plug-ins, and licenses in coordination with the IT team.
  • Oversee and maintain AV equipment, including cameras, lighting systems, microphones, audio consoles, and editing stations.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to faculty and students during video production, sound recording, motion graphics, and post-production sessions.
  • Develop and document operational guidelines for lab usage, safety, and maintenance in collaboration with a faculty member.
  • Coordinate with faculty to set up lab infrastructure for new courses and technical demonstrations.
  • Train and mentor students on the use of multimedia tools, editing workflows, and file management systems.
  • Supervise student usage to ensure responsible handling of equipment and adherence to lab discipline.
  • Maintain an updated inventory of assets, consumables, and technical logs, ensuring periodic maintenance and procurement of required tools.
  • Support the department during exhibitions, juries, and events involving AV setups, digital projections, or installations.
  • Collaborate with the Photography and Printing Labs for interdisciplinary projects and integrated outputs.
