About Anant Centre for Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices

The Centre for Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices aims to systematically document and preserve India’s rich and diverse indigenous knowledge systems, covering a wide range of areas such as Bhavan Nirman (traditional architecture), agriculture, water conservation and other cultural/ecological practices. The centre takes a scientific and organised approach to mapping both existing knowledge systems and those at risk of extinction, ensuring that these invaluable traditions are preserved and integrated into modern discourse and practice. Through this effort, the centre significantly contributes to safeguarding India’s heritage while exploring innovative solutions for contemporary challenges.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

  • Build a digital sub-domain under Anant University’s website to host the geo-cultural mapping outputs.
  • Deliver a platform that is accessible, easy to update and interactive for long term use.
  • Scope of Work: Frontend: Develop an engaging, user-friendly interface and interactive visualisations.
    Backend: Ensure robust database integration, GIS compatibility, and scalable design.

Expected Outcome

A functional and interactive geo-cultural mapping platform for dissemination and engagement.
