Seema Anand is a Biomimicry Specialist (Biomimicry 3.8 Institute, USA, 2011) and a practising Architect in Bangalore. She is a visiting faculty in RV College of Architecture, Bangalore, India. She is the co-founder of ‘Biomimicry India Network’ and also the co-founder of ‘Biomimicry India Lab and Studio’, a company that consults and undertakes research in the field of biomimicry. She considers Biomimicry as a ‘lighthouse’ that can successfully guide our approach to sustainable designs.
Prashant Dhawan is the Co-founder of the Biomimicry India Network. He holds a degree in MS (Master of Science) in Biomimicry from the Arizona State University, USA and Biomimicry Professional Certification from Biomimicry 3.8, USA. He also holds a degree in Architecture from SPA Delhi and an MBA from ISB Hyderabad. Prashant prefers to call himself an amateur researcher of issues related to sustainable happiness.
Together Seema and Prashant have conducted more than 150 Biomimicry courses, workshops and talks in various educational institutes. Some of the prestigious institutions where they taught biomimicry are Tongji University (Shanghai), IIT Gandhinagar, VIT Vellore, CEPT University in Ahmadabad, SPA Delhi, NCBS (National Centre for Biological Sciences) Bangalore, NIT (Rourkela & Trichy), NID (Bangalore, Vijayawada and Kurukshetra), NIFT (Hyderabad, Kangra & Delhi), Ahmedabad University, IIST, IIITDM, RVCA, BMSCE, BMSIT and Shristi School of Art, Design and Technology (Bangalore), among others. They also conducted Biomimicry talks and workshops for ISRO, CII – YII, ITC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Axis Bank, ASME, INCOSE & IUCEE, among others.
