Hesha Shah, an Academic Associate at Anant National University, has experience in implementing and managing strategies related to academic affairs. She is also a co-founder of SICCA Collective (Sustainable Indigenous Centre for Collaborative Arts), which focuses on archiving and promoting local indigenous communities. The centre designs and hosts workshops and artist residencies across India.

 

At Anant National University, Hesha manages the Office of Academic Affairs and Foundation Year programme. She supervises, manages budgets and implements strategic objectives and procedures using multidisciplinary approaches and collaboration for Academic Affairs. She collaborates with different departments and people to plan and execute academic events such as orientation, convocation, summer/winter school and gamethon.

 

Hesha holds a Post Graduate Diploma in the Built Environment from Anant, where she also completed her Bachelor of Architecture. Her academic work includes a design thesis on Performing Art Centres and an urban design project focused on revitalising the public realm at Manek Chowk Precinct. She has participated in various competitions, like 120 hours, and attended the International Rotary Youth Leadership Camp.

 

Prior to joining Anant, she has undertaken several independent projects, including interior designs for residential and commercial spaces in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. She has previously worked for a number of Ahmedabad-based organisations, including PDC Architects, Snehal Joshi Architects and Studio Design Atelier Pvt Ltd, where she oversaw and developed conceptual designs and client-vendor coordination, design development and execution stage.

 

Hesha enjoys travelling, especially to unexplored places, exploring musical genres and learning about different cultures in addition to her academic and professional endeavours. She enjoys adventurous activities, including scuba diving, surfing and bungee jumping. She actively engages in volunteer work with a number of organisations and NGOs, like the Aasmaan Foundation, mentoring young people.
