Ms. Sharadbala Joshi, an architect and planner, has over 35 years’ experience in facilitating inclusive and community-centred slum upgrading, redevelopment and resettlement.
Sharadbala has conducted research on initiatives that have resulted in sustainable improvements in informal settlements, including assisted self-help housing, community-led resettlement initiatives in Sri Lanka,Mongolia, East Africa, slum-networking initiatives in Indore, Vadodara and Ahmedabad and on affordable housing initiatives in Ahmedabad. After completing her training in architecture at CEPT,Ahmedabad, Sharadbala got an MSc in Human Settlements Development from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and a Ph.D. from Loughborough University, UK.
