The university welcomed more than 200 design students for the batch of 2022-26. The new batch of design students embarked on their academic journey with a series of events comprising an orientation programme, unlearning module and an exhibition.

The three-day orientation programme introduced them to various aspects
of the university, including infrastructure, services and campus culture. Dr Anunaya Chaubey, Provost, flagged off the programme with addressing the students. In his talk, he stressed the importance of community connect and harbouring empathy to design sustainable solutions. The students were also made privy to trends and debates around design in a panel discussion comprising Director of School of Design and senior faculty members.

The students also displayed excellent skills in the ‘Unlearning’ module, curated to break away from preconceived notions and adopt a new approach to design thinking. The module included a series of ice-breaking and ideation workshops, activities, film screenings and field immersions in Ahmedabad. It culminated with an exhibition of students’ works.
