Anushthan 2017, a collaborative event by all schools of Anant National University, hosted by the Students, was a soaring success. The events included both academic and extra curricular events aimed at overall development of students. The events also aimed at giving good exposure of the current affairs in the design field.

The informal inaugural with music and colours put the entire campus in the vibe of ANUSHTHAN. The energy was was then again levelled with the workshop “Musiktecture” by Ar. Kalapi Bhuj and Ar. Maitri Bhuj, along with musician and singer Dr. Janki Mithaivala. The beautiful works of these architects rendered with music gave an insight into how music is an inspiration for all designers. The workshop was followed by an open Jury of a design competition floated a week ahead. The students were to design the stretch between Sanskardham lake and School of Architecture as a public interaction space. The open jury then followed by a students’ debate. The interesting topic of debate: Economic Viability versus Designer’s satisfaction in Design field. Many on the spot games were planned to take place simultaneously. 

The evening guest lecture by Prof. Christopher Charles Benninger, an American-Indian architect and planner, based in Pune was on the topic: “An Architect in the City” was an elaborate discussion on his journey as an architect through his works. It was an opportunity to host such an esteemed architect to ANUSHTHAN. The attendees included around 500 students and professionals from all over Ahmedabad , apart from the students of ANU. The day ended on a comic note with a Mic. Drop session, breaking ice between juniors and seniors. “Ahmedabad Komedians” a comic club based in Ahmedabad was invited to be a part of Mic. Drop.

Day two of ANUSHTHAN started with another guest lecture by a renowned architect and planner, Ar. Bimal Patel, President, CEPT University graced the students with his wise words on the future of Cityscapes in India. The interactive session gave the students the opportunity to enquire about the current situation of Rapid Urbanisation. The following workshop were electives: Mix Media workshop conducted by Artist Kurma Nadhan and Paper marbling workshop conducted by students of third year, architecture. Prof. Sandeep Paul also hosted the audio visual workshop: “Story of a city”. Ar. Sangram Sinh Parmar hosted the ANUSHTHAN Quiz, where teams went head to head on various topics. 

The Drum Circle made the evening even more memorable with the live drumming session where students and faculty took part. 

The third day, celebrated the Cultural night in the evening. Treasure Hunt in the Sanskardham campus was also designed for the students. Cultural Night saw more than 1200 attendees. The participants in the cultural night prepared various performances. The dances, drama, Amalgam Band performance and felicitation concluded the Cultural night.
