Jasmine Gohil is a Professor and Associate Dean in the Academic Affairs department. Her expertise lies in developing innovative teaching pedagogies and fostering an all-round development of students. She is deeply engaged in researching the role of Architecture in LGBTQ+ Inclusion, delving into discussions on gender inclusion within architectural contexts. She has also researched the role of colour in architecture with her work aiming to broaden perspectives and pave the way for future discourse by exploring new directions and avenues in this field.
At Anant, Jasmine guides students in design and research thesis projects. Her efforts have helped several students win accolades in competitions like NIASA, ARCHIPRIX and NASA. Her pedagogical approach emphasises hands-on learning and critical thinking, aiming to cultivate students into well-rounded professionals. As an Associate Dean, Jasmine is committed to enhancing the academic experience and preparing students for success in their professional lives. She actively contributes to curriculum development and ensures that students receive comprehensive training aligned with industry standards. She is involved in nurturing a community of forward-thinking architects and designers equipped to address contemporary challenges in the built environment.
Academically, Jasmine has a Bachelor of Architecture from the Institute of Environmental Design, DC Patel School of Architecture, Vallabh Vidyanagar. She also has a Master’s in Urban Planning from Bhaikaka Centre for Human Settlements, APIED, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
Before joining Anant National University, Jasmine was a visiting faculty member, guest speaker, and external jury member at multiple prestigious institutions, where she imparted her architecture and design education expertise. With over two decades of experience in education and architectural practice, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Anant National University. She has more than 13 years of experience as an academician, where she has worked with several architecture and design institutes of national repute. Her architectural practice encompasses various projects, from small-scale residential endeavours to large institutional undertakings. She was honoured for her contributions to the field with the Exceptional Woman of Excellence award in 2017 by the Women Economic Forum.
Beyond academia, Jasmine is a trained Kathak dancer and an enthusiast of horse riding. She also loves reading and cherishing the company of her pets during leisure hours. She finds fulfilment in exploring diverse cultures through travel and outdoor adventures. Her commitment to holistic development extends beyond her professional endeavours, reflecting a well-rounded approach to life.
