Designation: Assistant Professor, School of Architecture

Salary: As per UGC norms or higher for deserving candidates

Minimum Education Qualification and Work Experience: Applicants must have a Bachelor‘s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B.Arch., with a minimum of 60 per cent marks and three years of relevant professional experience. Or, they must have a Bachelor‘s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B. Arch, and a Master‘s Degree in Architecture or allied subjects of Architecture with a minimum of 60 per cent marks at either level with one year of relevant professional experience.

Teaching and Examination

  • Undertake research-led teaching at different levels of undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes

  • Proactively respond to student concerns and queries (within and outside the classroom)- maintain office hours on a weekly basis

  • Design, develop and offer modules/electives within your area of expertise

  • Play a significant role in reviewing course outline and ensure teaching quality among co-faculty
  • Develop innovative approaches to learning and provide timely feedback and assessment of coursework and examinations

  • Supervise students undertaking research projects as appropriate

  • Develop and deliver course material, curricula and syllabi

  • Develop question banks for assignments and assessments within the subject area

  • Assess, review and evaluate student activities and progress

  • Proactively employ the highest quality standards for teaching-learning as benchmarked by the University

Research and Consultancy

  • Publish quality research papers and articles in journals of national and international repute

  • Publish articles and books with reputed publishers

  • Undertake sponsored research projects and consultancy from funding agencies and industry

Academic Administration

  • Contribute to developing academic policies of the University

  • Coach, advise and mentor teaching assistants, and colleagues

  • Active participation in faculty and departmental meetings

  • Support Office of Admissions in selecting quality students for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Fellowship Programme

  • Collaborate with expert speakers and organise guest seminars and faculty events

  • Assist in various departmental duties and support Dean/Director of the School in their day-to-day academic activities and functions.

  • Invigilate examinations/assessments/juries
