A travelogue and poetry–prose reflection by two young women journeying across India, Later, They Invited Us Home documents encounters with indigenous communities through a distinct storytelling lens. The journey spans the Paniyas of Kerala, the Baigas of Madhya Pradesh and the Lepchas of Sikkim. Through conversations, observations and shared moments, it explores their deep connection with nature and their surroundings. Combining photography, illustration and live sketches, the work captures lived experiences and reflections, aiming to make indigenous stories approachable for a new generation while exploring themes of belonging, environment and tradition in a changing world.
