Dr. Het Shah is a dynamic mathematician and academic whose journey is defined by an enduring passion for mathematical research and pedagogy. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, where his research has made significant strides in evolutionary computation, particularly in solving Modern Portfolio Theory problems using metaheuristic algorithms. His expertise spans multi objective optimization and computational finance, and his scholarly contributions are reflected through publications in Scopus-indexed proceedings and active participation in international conferences. His current research interests lie in the broad field of nature-inspired and bio- inspired metaheuristic algorithms, with a focus on their application to diverse engineering optimization problems.
Dr. Shah’s academic philosophy blends conceptual clarity with real-world application. He emphasizes a learner-centric approach, using practical problem-solving and critical thinking to bridge the gap between abstract mathematical theory and everyday challenges. His dedication to education was evident during his tenure at SKIPS University, where he taught Business Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, and Statistics for Data Science, inspiring students with both rigour and relevance.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Shah played a key role in academic administration and research dissemination. He managed over 300 research submissions during the 12th International Conference on Soft Computing for Problem Solving (SocProS 2023), showcasing his organizational acumen. His experiences as a teaching assistant at IIT Roorkee further honed his mentorship abilities, especially in guiding M.Tech and Pre-PhD students in advanced mathematical topics. An advocate for continuous growth, Dr. Shah has participated in elite programs like the GIAN course on multi-objective optimization at IIT Kanpur and the MTTS summer schools at HRI Allahabad and ICT Mumbai. Dr. Shah aims to bridge theoretical mathematics with real-world applications and continues to mentor students while pursuing impactful interdisciplinary research.
