Viren Goyani, a Bachelor of Architecture Graduate of the Class of 2024, explores a contemporary approach to crematorium design.
The objective was to explore a contemporary approach to Hindu Crematorium design. Under the mentorship of Prof Poonam Jolly, Visiting Faculty, School of Architecture, Viren was focused on creating Architectural Design spaces that support grieving and contemplation for both families and friends.
Hailing from Surat, Viren’s thesis aimed to design a crematorium in accordance with traditional beliefs and values connected to cremation and find a valid architectural expression to help a family or friends heal from a loss in the crematorium.
