Diti Pundrik Vyas is an Associate Professor at the School of Creative Practices and Entrepreneurship. Through her research, she has concentrated on gender studies, children’s literature, communication studies, sustainability communication and indigenous communities. A lot of her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals of repute such as IRCL, Taylor and Francis and Emerald Publication.

At Anant, Dr Vyas teaches interdisciplinary courses and research that are in line with the vision of SCoPE. Employing time-tested and innovative teaching andragogy, Dr Vyas offers experiential courses such as Communication for Social Change, Semiotics, Written Analysis and Communication, Research Writing and Interpersonal Skills.

With a strong background in literature, management and fine arts, Dr Vyas has a rich experience in academic teaching, research and consulting spanning two decades. Her doctoral research entitled ‘Gender Politics and Indian Children’s Literature: A Comparative Analysis of Adventure Fiction in English and Gujarati’ has received national and international accolades from bodies such as the International Research Society for Children’s Literature (IRSCL). She was a gold medallist at the Master’s Level from Gujarat University and secured a distinction in her MPhil. She also won the second prize in the 1st Indigenous Voices Case Writing Competition at The Case Journal, Emerald, 2023.

Dr Vyas has worked as Principal Investigator on the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Project on Archiving and Reviving Lullabies in the Gujarati Language with AICTE. She is the Co-Project Director at Investigating Impact of Digital India Initiative on Urban and Rural Youth in Gujarat, a Minor Research Project, ICSSR – 2023-24.

Professionally, Dr Vyas has been in different positions including an Associate Professor in the Communications Area at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, a visiting faculty at institutes of eminence such as Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, School of Petroleum Management, Gandhinagar and St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad. She also served as an Associate Professor, Communications and Head of the Centre of Excellence on Social Infrastructure (CSI) at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (AIIM), Ahmedabad.

Dr Vyas has widely lectured and presented at international and national forums such as Newcastle University, Maastricht University, the Netherlands, University of Worcester, United Kingdom, York University, Canada, Marino Institute of Education, Ireland, National Institute of Design (NID), Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Indian Institute of Management Udaipur, Bharatiar University, Tamil Nadu and Calicut University, Kerala.

She has mentored mid-career executives of Apollo Hospitals, Adani Group, Sterling Hospital, State Bank of India, British Council and Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat through various Management Development Programmes (MDPs) in the areas of Leadership Communication, Interpersonal Skills etc.

Beyond academics, Dr Vyas is trained in Kathak and Hindustani music. She also holds a diploma in Painting from CN Fine Arts College. She enjoys high-altitude trekking, especially in the Himalayas.
