Vaidehi Kamthe, a Graduate of the Class of 2024 with Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design as major and Graphic Design as minor, designs new festival collections highlighting the richness of Banarasi Silk Tissue Fabric.
Chambray and Co wanted to create new festive collections that highlight the richness of Banarasi Silk Tissue Fabric. Under the mentorship of Prof Risha Roy, Associate Professor and Lead, Sustainable Fashion and Textile Design, School of Design and sponsored by Chambray and Co, Vaidehi designed Qurbaat, the festival collections through contemporary Western and Indo-Western silhouettes to serve the purpose.
Hailing from Pune, Vaidehi also created floral abstract motifs for more than 30 garments in these collections.
