Shrinidhi Iyer, a Graduate of the Class of 2024 with Interaction Design as major and Graphic Design as a minor, designs a tactile breath guidance device to build resilience to anxiety and stress responses.
The objective was to design a device to build resilience to anxiety and stress responses. Under the mentorship of Prof Bhargav Padhiyar, Assistant Professor, School of Design, Shrinidhi developed SPIRO, a tactile breath guidance device with a primary focus on habit formation to serve the purpose. The device provides physical comfort and mindfulness without requiring the user to set aside extra time, offering a seamless integration in a person’s daily routine.
Hailing from Ahmedabad, Shrinidhi developed an attachable chair cushion with inflatable arms that wrap around your abdomen to guide diaphragmatic breathing through gentle feedback.
