Aanchal Thakkar

Aanchal Thakkar, a Graduate of the Class of 2024 with Space Design as major and Product Design as minor, designs a Kutch-inspired Yacht.

The objective was to create a luxurious yacht that was inspired by the local art of Kutch. Under the mentorship of Prof Neha Vin, Adjunct Assistant Professor, School of Design, Aanchal designed a yacht that marries modern amenities with the cultural richness of Kutch, Gujarat.

Hailing from Ahmedabad, Aanchal’s yacht design incorporates intricate craftsmanship, textiles and forms, all while ensuring functionality in an oceanic environment.

Aanchal had co-founded Saranya Design Studio, an interior design firm, in August 2023. She also collaborates with Ujjval Fadia Architects, where I am involved in architectural and interior design projects across India.
