Anant National University, India’s first DesignX university, is dedicated to training students to devise solutions for global problems through creative thinking.

About Anant Fellowship

The Anant Fellowship is the flagship programme of Anant National University. The Fellowship is a yearlong residential programme open to students from across the world. Since its inception, the Fellowship has attracted Fellows from 18+ countries, 50+ Indian cities and diverse academic, professional and socio-economic backgrounds. The programme offers a comprehensive understanding of sustainability and built environment through a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary curriculum along with a rigorous experiential component. The Master of Science in Sustainability and Built Environment is an optional yearlong extension of the Fellowship where Fellows work on a research proposal under the tracks of affordable housing, culture and heritage,
sustainable urbanism and climate and sustainability.

Required Educational Qualification and Years of Experience

  • PhD/Master’s or equivalent in sustainability, architecture, education, management,
    humanities or related fields.
  • 10+ years in senior academic leadership roles in an educational setting in India or abroad.
  • Interdisciplinary experience with proven experience in higher education administration, sustainability, architecture, urban planning or a related field preferred.
  • The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to design, plan, implement and manage graduate level programmes in an educational setting and will have impressive experience being a successful team leader and collaborator.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

Programme Leadership

  • Oversee the implementation of the programme's strategic vision and goals
  • Ensure the programme aligns with the university’s mission and objectives
  • Build and foster a culture of innovation and excellence in sustainability and experiential learning

 

Curriculum Development

  • Design and implement an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates sustainability, the built environment and experiential learning
  • Incorporate cutting-edge practices, technology and methods in sustainability and the built environment
  • Ensure the curriculum is regularly updated in coordination with statutory committees

 

Experiential Learning

  • In collaboration with mentors, provide guidance and support to Fellows participating in community-based projects, ensuring they have the resources and mentorship needed for success
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Live Action Project and make recommendations for enhancements
  • Facilitate collaborations between students and community stakeholders to ensure that projects are
    mutually beneficial and impactful

 

Faculty Management

  • Oversee the process of inviting and onboarding visiting faculty, including handling administrative tasks such as contract negotiations, scheduling and orientation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with visiting faculty, providing support and ensuring their successful
    integration into the programme.
  • Identify and recruit new visiting faculty who can contribute to the programme’s goals and enhance the learning experience.

 

Teaching and Mentoring

  • Lead and participate in teaching courses at the Fellowship and across the University
  • Mentor and support Fellows, providing guidance on academic and career development
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning and living environment

 

Partnerships and Collaboration

  • Build and maintain relationships with other academic institutions, industry partners, government agencies, nonprofits and other stakeholders
  • Develop opportunities for students to engage in real-world projects, internships and research collaborations
  • Represent the programme at conferences, workshops and other professional forums

 

Programme Management

  • Oversee the programme’s budget, revenue, policy, strategic planning, compliance, marketing, admissions and operations
  • Coordinate with the University community which includes the Fellows, leadership, faculty, staff and external partners to ensure high quality programme delivery
  • Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes, making data-driven decisions for continuous Improvement

 

Crisis Management:

  • Addressing and managing any issues or crises that arise within the programme, such as academic disputes, emergencies or operational challenges.
