About (Department)

Anant Fellowship in Sustainability and Built Environment (AFSBE) is a one-year postgraduate diploma programme. It is also the first year for a Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainability and Built Environment. The programme is designed to incorporate the best learning practices through a flexible multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary curriculum. In addition to classroom lectures delivered by leading academics, industry practitioners and experts; the programme includes field visits, studio sessions, workshops, seminars and the Live-Action Project (LAP).

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

This role allows candidates to gain experience working on different roles within academia including research, programme design, management and teaching

Academic Programme Management
 

  • Assist in design and management of the academic programme. This includes faculty and fellow engagement, preparation and management of academic records (classrooms, grades, transcripts etc) and faculty coordination.

 

Live-Action Project (LAP) Lead
 

  • Manage different initiatives under the Live-Action Project (experiential) track of the fellowship. This includes identifying potential projects for LAP, partnering with external institutions, creating LAP mentor committees and managing day-to-day coordination and guidance.

 

Teaching Assistance
 

  • Provides support to lead faculty by tutoring individual students or small groups. Their duties include help creating lesson plans, documenting progress, overseeing lesson preparations and managing module documents and logistics. Candidate is encouraged to teach a workshop/ module.

 

Course Management
 

  • Attending lectures, maintaining discipline and attendance, conducting regular townhalls, managing assignment deadlines, assisting the faculty in grading (when required), collating grades, sharing the grades after each term, collection and analysis of faculty and fellow feedback, facilitation of mentorship programme.

 

Admissions
 

  • Supporting admissions team in the admission process. Telephonic contact with applicants. Follow-up with applicants- Interacting with candidates and help them complete the admission process, conducting interview, assisting the marketing team in updating social media pages.

Key Skills

  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
  • Ability to plan and keep track of multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
