About (Department)

The HR Office creates, encourages, and maintains an environment that supports the wellbeing and professional growth of the University’s employees while serving the larger community of stakeholders. Its key functions include establishing recruitment, selection, and employment policies; developing and coordinating professional training and education; assisting in the implementation of the performance appraisal system; and ensuring safe and effective working conditions that promote staff welfare and positive employee–University relationships. In addition, the office manages employee records and provides relevant reports to stakeholders, while continuously developing,implementing, and updating personnel policies and procedures.

Required Education qualifications

Master’s degree in Human Resources / Business Administration (MBA –HR preferred).

10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Prior experience in higher education, research institutions, or knowledge-driven organizations preferred.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

Strategic HR Leadership
 

  • Support the Head HR in formulating and executing the University’s people strategy.
  • Translate institutional goals into actionable HR initiatives across recruitment, performance, and development.
  • Advise University leadership on workforce planning, organizational structure, and succession management.

Talent Acquisition & Faculty/Staff Recruitment
 

  • Lead recruitment of high-quality faculty, staff, and administrative talent.
  • Ensure a transparent, efficient, and inclusive hiring process aligned with university policies.
  • Build networks with academic and professional institutions to strengthen talent pipelines.

Performance Management & Development
 

  • Drive implementation of performance appraisal systems for faculty and staff.

  • Promote merit-based recognition, career growth, and succession planning.

Employee Engagement & Wellbeing
 

  • Foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture across academic and administrative units.
  • Implement initiatives for employee welfare, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Design engagement surveys and follow-up action plans to strengthen retention.

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
 

  • Assist Head HR in designing compensation structures benchmarked with academic and industry standards.
  • Oversee payroll accuracy, leave management, and statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to UGC, AICTE, and other regulatory guidelines applicable to higher education institutions.

HR Operations & Systems
 

  • Strengthen HRMS and digital HR processes for efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain updated employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor HR metrics and present insights for decision-making to senior management.
