Anant National University, India’s first DesignX university, is dedicated to training students to devise solutions for global problems through creative thinking.

About HR

The HR office creates, encourages, and maintains an environment that supports, develops and sustains the wellbeing of the University’s employees, and the larger community of its stakeholders. The major functions of the Office of HR include but are not limited to the following:

  • Set up recruitment, selection, and employment policies and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate staff professional training, development, and education.
  • Assist in managing and implementing the performance appraisal system.
  • Provide safe and effective working conditions, thus enhancing staff welfare by providing assistance and encouraging a positive relationship between staff and the University.
  • Manage and maintain employees’ records and files, and provide statistical information and reports to the appropriate parties.
  • Develop, implement, and update personnel policies and procedures.

Required Education qualifications

Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.

Years of Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role. Experience in the higher education sector is highly desirable.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
 

  • Manage the recruitment process for administrative staff, and support positions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Oversee the selection, interview, and hiring processes, ensuring compliance with university policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs for new employees.

Employee Relations
 

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to both employees and supervisors.
  • Address and resolve workplace conflicts, conduct investigations, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and open communication.

Performance Management
 

  • Assist the performance review process, ensuring timely and constructive feedback.
  • Assist in implementing programmes for employee development, training, and succession planning.

Policy Development and Compliance
 

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with laws and university policies.
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits
 

  • Assist the administration of employee compensation and benefits programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compensation strategies that align with university goals.

HR Information Systems (HRIS)
 

  • Manage and maintain the HRIS to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform HR strategies and decision-making.

Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, and employment regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software.
