Prosthetic Foot for Indian Transtibial Amputees
Riya Mulay, a Graduate of the Class of 2024 with Product Design as major and Health and Wellbeing as minor, designs a prosthetic foot for Indian transtibial amputees.
Flexmotiv Technologies Pvt Ltd wanted to develop a high-activity prosthetic foot. Under the mentorship of Prof Parth Raval, Assistant Professor, School of Design and sponsored by Flexmotiv Technologies Pvt Ltd, Riya developed a high-activity prosthetic foot to establish quantitative and qualitative parameters through reverse engineering to enhance the product’s functionality to serve the purpose.
Hailing from Pune, Riya designed a product that meets the specific requirements of below-knee amputees, with stakeholder engagement playing a crucial role in making design decisions.
