About (School of Architecture)

The programme in School of Architecture nurtures reflective and critical attitudes to generate aware and responsible practitioners who shape meaningful relationships between people and their environment. The emphasis is to create solutionaries who would enhance the quality of life and instil respect for diversity, equity, and ethical behaviour to ground the practices in human values while addressing issues of society through responsible architecture. The school seeks to develop new ways of thinking in an increasingly complex and competitive field.

Required Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B.Arch and Master’s degree in Architecture or in allied subjects of Architecture with minimum 60 per cent marks at either level

Years of Experience

Fourteen years of experience in teaching/research/professional work out of which a full-time teaching experience of minimum five years or nineteen years of professional experience. Desirable: PhD in Architecture.

  • Deliver high-quality courses in architecture, including design studios, theory, history, technology, and other related subjects.
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curricula to align with current industry standards and architectural trends.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to architecture students, including supervising design projects and theses.

  • Conduct original research and scholarly work in the field of architecture, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, or design projects that contribute to the discipline.
  • Seek external research funding opportunities, such as grants and contracts, to support research endeavors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and students on research projects and interdisciplinary initiatives.

Key Responsible Areas (KRAs) : Academic Leadership

  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees, helping to shape academic policies, curriculum development, and strategic planning for the School of Architecture.
  • Mentor junior faculty members and provide guidance to colleagues in their professional development.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the School and advocate for inclusive pedagogical practices.

  • Maintain active involvement in the architectural profession, staying informed about emerging design trends, technologies, and sustainable practices.
