Imon Raza has a keen interest in social design and ecology. He has worked with organisations like UNESCO, Directorate of Museums, Government of Assam, Govt of India’s Ministry of Labour and Employment, Sahitya Akademi, National Institute of Design, Sahapedia, Sabyasachi, Craftmark, Cotton University and many others.
At Anant, Imon is an Assistant Professor for the School of Design. He has been working with indigenous systems for a while, and his non-profit venture Heritage, Art & Design, works with conservation and heritage preservation in Northeast India through design intervention and interdisciplinary approaches.
He is a NID Ahmedabad alumnus with nearly six years of experience in communication design, research and academia. His graduation project at NID received full sponsorship by the Swiss National Science Fund and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland, at the Competence Centre for Visual Narratives.
Imon also practices as a new media artist and dabbles in poetry. He is deeply interested in folklore, indigenous practices, ecology and new media practices. He often works at the intersections of such areas and design.
