Centre of Design Education (CODE)
National Education Policy 2020 has recommended the introduction of design courses and the integration of design thinking into the school curriculum. Anant National University, India’s first DesignX University has set up the Centre of Design Education (CODE) for Schools to contribute towards creating awareness amongst students, teachers, about design thinking and design as a discipline. Through the specially created courses and workshops for schools across the country to help them implement NEP’s recommendation to integrate design thinking in their curriculum.
Objectives

To offer a design awareness or education campaign that is holistic and sustained.

To curate curriculum enabling the students to think creatively and critically to solve problems.

Train the teachers to upskill themselves.

Create awareness amongst parents, principals and career counsellors about design – its meaning, impact and its fast-expanding job market.

The Anant Summer IsCool introduced 75 students and educators from 24 schools across 10 Indian cities to the world of design. Hands-on workshops on Product Design, Communication Design, Experience Design, Animation and Photography were offered by award-winning designers. The participants designed innovative projects and solved contemporary problems.

Anunaya Chaubey, artist, educator, linguist and Provost of Anant
The ten days also included sports competitions, open mic sessions and a heritage walk to
Ahmedabad, India's first heritage city by UNESCO.
