About SCoPE

The problems of today’s world are multifaceted and require insights from diverse areas of expertise. The design solutions to these problems, therefore, emerge out of and are nurtured in multi-dimensional contexts. In line with the NEP 2020 framework, the School of Creative Practices and Entrepreneurship (SCoPE) was established in January 2022 to make these contexts stand out through interdisciplinary teaching and research.

As a hub of academicians and scholars from diverse liberal arts disciplines and practices, such as creative arts, humanities, social sciences, sciences and entrepreneurship, SCoPE will offer an exciting range of courses. SCoPE would also foster a research ecosystem by promoting collaborations at the interface between various disciplines by bringing together researchers from the University and beyond. Thus, SCoPE intends to enhance context awareness by inculcating interdisciplinary knowledge, research aptitude, multipronged problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Required Educational Qualification:

• PhD in the relevant discipline

Years of Experience

• 10+ years in senior academic leadership roles in teaching/research/industry in India or abroad. Minimum 3 years shall be at a post equivalent to that of a Professor/Associate Professor.
• Interdisciplinary experience with proven experience in higher education administration, liberal arts or a related field preferred.
• The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to design, plan, implement and manage academic programmes in an educational setting and will have impressive experience being a successful team leader and collaborator.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

• Deliver engaging and effective courses in liberal arts subjects across programmes in the University.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi and curricula to ensure relevant academic offerings.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising on projects, theses and career development.

• Conduct original research in the field leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, or creative works that contribute to the discipline.
• Pursue external funding opportunities, such as grants, consultancies and research contracts, to support research endeavours.
• Collaborate with colleagues, both within and outside the institution, on interdisciplinary research projects.

• Serve on committees and participate in academic governance to help shape the policies and direction of the School.
• Mentor younger faculty and provide guidance to colleagues in their professional development.
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the School and actively work towards creating an inclusive learning environment.

• Maintain active involvement in the industry, staying current with emerging trends, technologies and practices.
• Network with professionals, organisations and alumni to facilitate career pathways for students.

• Participate in community outreach, public lectures and events to promote the School.
• Engage in institution building activities, such as serving on academic and professional committees.
