About Anant National University

Anant National University, India’s first DesignX university, is dedicated to training students to devise solutions for global problems through creative thinking.

About ASCA

The Anant School for Climate Action aims to be the hub for climate-related research and action in India. We foster innovative research in climate technologies, water resource management, flood resilience, and ecohydraulics, among other areas. Required education qualification

Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, or Hydraulic Engineering

years of experience

Minimum 8 years of research experience in open-channel flow hydraulics, computational fluid dynamics, and river hydraulics

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

  • Conduct advanced research on flow modeling and hydraulics in meandering and compound channels.
  • Develop mathematical models for predicting hydraulic parameters such as velocity distribution, roughness coefficients, and stage-discharge relationships.
  • Lead experimental setups, data collection, and analysis in large-scale flume environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate research on ecohydraulics and nature-based solutions for flood resilience.
  • Supervise graduate and doctoral students in climate action-related projects.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and represent the university at international conferences.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects in river basin management, flood mitigation, and sustainable water resource development.

Key Skills

  • Expertise in hydraulic and hydrological modeling
  • Proficiency in experimental fluid mechanics and data analysis
  • Technical proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, QGIS, ArcGIS, ANSYS-FLUENT, Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry (ADV)
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in supervising research students
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
