About Office of Information Technology (IT)

The office of IT is responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of information technology infrastructure and services on campus. This includes developing and implementing new technology initiatives to support teaching, learning, research and administrative functions. Additionally, it manages the University’s network and internet connectivity, provides technical support to students and faculty, maintains hardware and software systems, manages databases and servers and ensures data security and privacy.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs):

  • Enterprise Software Management: Efficiently manage and configure the University’s enterprise software systems like ERP to ensure they perform optimally and meet organizational requirements.
  • User Training: Provide training and support to users across University departments, empowering them to proficiently manage their enterprise software and website sections.
  • Technical Support: Deliver technical support and troubleshooting to enterprise software users, resolving functionality and accessibility issues.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation covering enterprise software management processes, configurations and user manuals.
  • Website Management: Manage the University’s website, including content management, updates and user experience enhancements, to ensure alignment with the University’s brand guidelines and user needs.
  • Content Management: Publish website content, ensuring consistency and adherence to branding guidelines.
  • HTML/CSS Expertise: Expertise in HTML, CSS and other web technologies to customise website templates, address design issues and implement enhancements for an improved user experience.

Areas of Expertise/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with preference given to those in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT management roles, with a focus on ERP system management, website development and content management preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and other web development technologies, with the ability to customize website templates and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Project management skills and experience managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
