Anant National University, India’s first DesignX University, inaugurated the Cyber Safe Mission Symposium, a Gujarat Government initiative to prevent people from becoming victims of cybercrime. Shri. Harsh Sanghavi, Home Minister (state) and MoS for Industries, Transport, Youth, and Sports, inaugurated the event and announced the university’s collaboration with the Ahmedabad Police for the Gujarat State Government’s Cyber Safe Mission. The event also commemorated the opening of a new lab at Anant-Earthlink 2372 – a dedicated lab for the advancement of AI technology and hyper visualisation, inaugurated by Shri Harsh Sanghavi and the announcement of the Cyber Safe Hackathon.
The symposium marked the exchange of an MoU for the Cyber Safe Mission between the Ahmedabad Police and Anant National University. The Gujarat Police initiated the Cyber Safe Mission, an initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Cybersafe Mission is a mass movement to raise awareness of the ever-changing world of cybercrime and aims to prevent people from becoming victims. The initiative is a step towards realising Prime Minister’s Vision for India @2047.
Cyber Safe Mission has helped Gujarat Police to curb and combat instances of cybercrime through AASHVAST, India’s first cybercrime prevention unit in Gandhinagar, a project launched by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. India’s first cybercrime prevention unit in Gandhinagar. The MoU is a step to formulate a holistic approach to combat cybercrime and make Anant National University a hub to achieve this goal. The signing of the MOU is a significant step towards developing awareness programmes and a strong, scalable student community network in Ahmedabad, which will serve as the future torch bearer of cybersecurity.
Post the exchange of the MoU, Cyber Safe Hackathon was launched during the event, which aims to sensitise students towards combating cybercrime using a problem-solving approach. Harsh Sanghavi also inaugurated the Centre of Excellence in Futuristic Technologies, a new lab dedicated to the development of AI and hyper visualisation technologies. The state-of-the-art facility intends to equip students with potential to identify challenges and mitigate cybercrime by leveraging futuristic technology and facilitating research.
