Working as an Assistant Professor at Anant, Parag’s research centres on creating user-friendly designs for process automation industries, particularly refineries and chemical plants. He is intrigued by making technology intuitive and easy to use, aiming to enhance user experience and interface design in these specialised fields. Additionally, he is passionate about crafting immersive media experiences and exploring creativity as a tool for education. Through his work, Parag seeks to blend innovation with practicality, striving to improve industrial processes and educational methods.

 

At Anant, Parag’s focus spans various domains within the field of design. He is deeply involved in teaching and researching areas such as Interaction Design, which affects how users interact with technology; Cognitive Ergonomics, which studies how design impacts human cognition and performance; and Human-Computer Interactions, which explores the relationship between people and computers. His dedication to these subjects enriches his teaching and contributes to advancing the understanding of how design influences human behaviour and experience in the digital age.

 

Parag holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Sculptures from the Faculty of Visual Arts, Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh and a Master of Visual Arts (MVA) in Creative Sculptures at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat. He has also earned a Master of Design (MDes) in Industrial Design from the National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

 

During his academic journey, his excellence was recognised with a National Scholarship in Sculptures from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government Of India and a scholarship from Toy Designer Prof Sudarshan Khanna.

 

Before joining Anant, Parag was an Assistant Professor at Unitedworld Institute of Design, Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, where he played the lead role in the Interaction Design Department with a new cutting-edge vision for design education and industry connections. He was also the Lead User Experience Designer at ABB (Asea Brown Boveri), Bengaluru, Warsaw & Zürich. 

 

Before ABB, he also worked as a Senior User Experience Designer for Industrial/Process Automation at Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Bengaluru and Tokyo and Deputy Design Manager at TI Cycles of India, Murugappa Group, Chennai. Parag also taught Product Design as a Visiting and Adjunct Faculty at Nitte Meenakshi School of Architecture, Bengaluru and Budram Madhab Satradhikar College, Sualkuchi, Kamrup, Assam.
