Dr Subhalaxmi Mohapatra, an Associate Professor at Anant, focuses on women, circular and artisanal entrepreneurship through her research. She is also interested in the confluence of behavioural aspects of design such as consumer and designer behaviour.

At Anant, Dr Mohapatra wishes to develop a culture of research among the Anant community where practical experiences culminates into teaching and research, helping students develop the ability to solve real-life problems. She promotes inquiry-based instruction, which involves creating design-oriented graphic novels, board games or card games as course outcomes.

An MPhil and a PhD in Economics from Utkal University, Odisha, Dr Mohapatra has worked as an Assistant Professor, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad and was a Research Officer at the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU). Before joining Anant, Dr Mohapatra was an Assistant Professor at the Birla Global University (BGU), Odisha and taught courses on Economics and Entrepreneurship.

During her tenure at BGU and IIMU, she was involved in several projects, research papers and case studies. A number of her papers were published in various international and national journals of repute such as the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, International Journal of Energy Sector Management, Vikalpa, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, Quality and Quantity, International Journal of Social Economics and Journal of Strategic Marketing. She is also an avid case writer and has published cases in reputed case journals and databases such as IIM Ahmedabad Case Collection, The Case Journal and the Ivey Case Collection.

Beyond academia, Dr Mohapatra is a trained Salsa dancer and an amateur guitarist. She also loves to learn about global cuisines and try them at home in her free time.
