The energy and vibrancy were at their all-time high in September as Anant added another milestone to its expanding infrastructure with the inauguration of the new Faculty and Graduate Housing by Mr Ajay Piramal. Orientation programmes, exhibitions of student works and festive celebrations added more excitement to the campus.
Mr Ajay Piramal, President, Anant National University, inaugurated Anant’s newest building, Faculty and Graduate Housing, on 1 September 2025 in the presence of key members of the university leadership. The new residence, designed by acclaimed Rushabh Parekh Design Studio (RPDS), has a built-up area of 26,475 square metres and comprises 172 apartments, including studio apartments and 1, 2 and 3 BHK homes. It also features thoughtfully designed common spaces, a gymnasium, yoga room, café and a visitor’s lounge.
With this expansion, Anant National University reaffirms its commitment to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure to facilitate world-class learning, while also contributing to the mission of Viksit Bharat through design-driven innovation and excellence.
The Orientation Programme 2025 welcomed 85 students of the Bachelor of Architecture (Class of 2030) and 10 students of the BTech in Climate Change (Class of 2029), marking the beginning of their academic journey at Anant. The programmes featured masterclasses by Dr Sanjeev Vidyarthi, Provost, Anant National University and engaging sessions by the senior faculty of both the programmes, including Dr Gauri Bharat, Professor and Dean, School of Architecture, Prof Jasmine Gohil, Professor and Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, and Dr Miniya Chatterji, Founding Director, Anant School for Climate Action.
Anant offers a flexible curriculum, empowering students to design their own academic pathways. This learning culture came alive as exhibitions showcasing students’ work displayed creative and design-led innovations. The 3rd-semester Interaction Design students presented handcrafted prototypes from the Embodiment module, Foundation Year students highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of art and design through their work from the World of Art and Design – I module, while the 9th-semester students from the School of Architecture displayed the works from Advanced Architecture Studio II.
Anant hosted a series of creative workshops for school students, offering immersive, hands-on learning experiences across design disciplines. 70 students from Classes 10–12 participated in two engaging workshops, ‘Make a Mistake’ and ‘Tie and Dye’ at Udgam School. A two-day workshop at Shanti Asiatic School introduced students to product design, sustainable fashion and textile design, interaction design and communication design, with 62 participants on Day 1 and 70 on Day 2. 74 Class 11 students and 3 teachers from Tulip School visited the Anant campus for workshops on ‘Upcycling and Recycling in Fashion’ and ‘The Art of Tie and Dye’.
The Anant community came together to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, Teacher's Day, Fresher's Day and Onam. The festivities featured a Clay Idol Making of Lord Ganesh, where faculty and staff crafted their own eco-friendly Ganesh idols, along with traditional dance and music performances, drum sessions, a fun fair, fun games and food stalls serving traditional delicacies.
Anant’s BArch Class of 2025 student Prusti Vadalia, and BDes Class of 2025 Space Design students Isha Bhalodia with a minor in Communication Design and Khushi Faldu with a minor in Graphic Design, secured a placement at Reliance Industries Ltd.
