March and April saw Anant hosting some significant events. The second edition of TEDxAnant National University concluded successfully, bringing changemakers and thought-leaders under one roof. Collaborative events with eChai Ventures and Divya Bhaskar injected fresh energy into the campus, engaging students, faculty and staff alike. Anant won the ET Now Best Education Brands 2025.
TEDxAnant National University, held on 5 April 2025, brought together distinguished thought leaders, changemakers and sustainability experts. The speakers included Shri M Nagarajan, IAS, Gujarat Cadre and VC and MD, GSRTC; Mr Sajith Ansar, CEO and Founder of Unlimits.ae and Idea Spice Design, Dubai; Mr Kiran Vaghela, Founder and Director, Hunnarshala Foundation; and Ms Dinie van den Heuvel, a PhD student at Anant National University and Creative Director, Infantium Victoria, Brussels. Anant’s artist-in-residence, Ravice Rashid from Kashmir, delivered a soul-stirring performance.
Themed Solutionaries, the event left participants with a renewed sense of purpose and the will to create meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
Expanding its global footprint, Anant National University joined hands with Whitecliffe Global, New Zealand's leading degree-granting private college, by signing an MoU on 21 March 2025. The partnership aims to enable our students, faculty, and the broader community to benefit from guest lectures, workshops, cultural exchanges and internship opportunities in the design and creative industries.
Anant National University was honoured at the recently concluded ET Now Best Education Brands 2025 in Mumbai. The initiative recognised industry trailblazers who epitomise quality, stature and trust and are revered within the education sector. Prof Sekhar Mukherjee, Professor and Programme Lead, Moving Image, School of Design, accepted the trophy on behalf of the university from Mr Sumnesh Joshi, Deputy Director General (Joint Secretary level), Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
Anant organised the second round of the Anant Design Entrance and Proficiency Test (ADEPT)— India's first and only multilingual design entrance test on 6 and 13 April 2025. Offered in 10 languages-English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Punjabi-ADEPT makes design education inclusive and accessible to aspirants from diverse backgrounds.
Anant collaborated with Divya Bhaskar as the Knowledge Partner for their initiative Accident Se Azadi, which aimed to spread awareness about road safety. Anant co-hosted a seminar on accident prevention with an expert panel, including SJ Modi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Ahmedabad City, healthcare professionals from KD Hospital, and experts from NHAI and Anant, discussing different aspects of accident prevention.
The Communication Design and Interaction Design departments recently organised impactful activities showcasing student creativity and innovation. 4th-semester Communication Design students participated in a 24-hour long 'Logothon,' under Prof Amitabh Pandey's guidance, creating logos for NIC, C-DAC and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Meanwhile, 6th-semester Interaction Design students displayed their projects at the Speculative Design exhibition led by Prof Irena Romendik, Prof Vijay Sekhon and TA Sarthak Chakraborty, in collaboration with Hadassah Academic College, Israel, exploring themes like climate collapse, hyper-surveillance and Al ethics.
Following the tremendous success of the inaugural edition of Anant Summer IsCool 2024, where 75 students from 24 schools across India participated, Anant is excited to announce the second edition in two batches. Batch 1 will run from 5 to 15 May, and Batch 2 from 25 May to 5 June. This is another chance to boost skills and ignite innovation through hands-on workshops and inspiring sessions.
