Full-time

  • Essential: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics with a minimum of 75% attained at either level. Ph.D. in Mathematics/Statistics.

  • Essential: Postdoctoral experience in Climate modeling or related fields.
  • Desirable: The applicants should have teaching and research experience in a reputed organization and have presented papers at conferences or published in referred journals (SCI-indexed).

Teaching and examination:

 

  • Undertake research-led teaching at different levels of
    undergraduate/postgraduate programs including graduate engineering
    mathematics and:

    • Statistical methods and data analysis
    • Geophysical fluid dynamics
  • Teaching a minimum of 16 hours per week and delivering associated results such as student grades and
    feedback
  • Develop student projects on applied research and guide students
  • Proactively respond to student concerns and queries (within and outside the classroom)- maintain office
    hours on a weekly basis
  • Design, develop and offer modules/electives within your area of expertise
  • Play a significant role in reviewing course outlines
  • Supervise students undertaking research projects as appropriate.
  • Proactively employ the highest quality standards for teaching-learning as benchmarked by the University

Research and consultancy:

 

  • Supervise Ph.D. students
  • Publish quality research papers and articles in journals of national and international repute
  • Publish articles and books with reputed publishers
  • Undertake sponsored research projects and consultancy from funding agencies and industry

Academic administration:

 

  • Active participation in faculty and departmental meetings
  • Support the Office of Admissions in selecting quality students for Undergraduate and Fellowship Programmes
  • Collaborate with expert speakers and organize guest seminars and faculty events
  • Assist in various departmental duties and support the Dean/Director of the School in their day-to-day academic
    activities and functions
  • Invigilate examinations/assessments/juries
  • Demonstrated excellence in research, including peer reviewed publications, in the field of Environmental Engineering/Climate Chemistry.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
