A development professional with a design background, Meghna Ajit attended the ‘ School Leavers Professional Education Program’ from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Backed with 19 years of experience, she has been a designer, an educator and an entrepreneur. She has worked extensively with rural and craft clusters across the country and is founder of a community development initiative named ‘Beeja’, recognised both nationally and internationally for live and successful projects with local communities.
Through her initiative ‘Beeja’, Meghna has actively engaged with the communities, facilitating them with appropriate know-how and infrastructures for adopting sustainable practices. She has groomed individuals to practice environment-friendly livelihoods and is persistent to sensitise youth and children about the environment-related concerns by demonstrating eco-friendly and ethical existence. She believes that design acts as a missing link that integrates the elements of an ecosystem. Beeja is also a brand showcasing sustainable products and furniture created as part of this community engagement.
Meghna Ajit, an Associate Professor at Anant National University, excels in design thinking and has an approach of bringing theory to practice in the field of design. She is the coordinator of Transdisciplinary Design and teaches Framing of Design Problems, Conflicting Concerns, World & India and Theory and Design Methods, Design Discovery and Vipassana & Design and Anchor subjects of Transdisciplinary Design at the University.
