Joel Fernando is a Communications designer with a master’s in communication design from National Institute of Design (NID), Gandhinagar. He predominantly works with moving images, books, and photography. Before venturing into the visual medium, he had worked in Titan company limited as a Senior engineer responsible for the manufacturing of Precision Components. He had completed his Bachelor of Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.

His graduation project in NID ‘Saram/Chain’ documents and traces the various sea ports on the southern coast along with their influence on the landscape. He is interested in observing and making stories on the socio-political fabric which weaves humans together in their daily life
