Abhishek Kumar completed his doctoral studies from Pondicherry University in the area of ‘measuring effectiveness of symbols in media industry’. He completed his Associateship in Philosophy from Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla where he conducted Foucauldian analysis of literary texts of Rabindranath Tagore and Bernard Shaw. Additionally he worked on western aesthetic theories of Heidegger particularly on “The Origin of the Work of Art” and “Building Dwelling Thinking”. He is MBA from the prestigious Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu and has obtained B.Sc. (Economics) from the University of Calcutta.

He teaches courses that foreground the philosophical foundations of arts, architecture and design such as Mind of Architecture, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Social Sciences, Western Aesthetics-from Plato to Heidegger, Basics of Research, Mahabharata through many lens, Design Dialectics. His writings too revolve around the ideas of art, art history, and philosophy of art. He has 7 articles published in SCI journals, more than 20 research papers in national/international journals and nearly 20 articles in various media publications. His article, Letter to a Young Designer serves as an inspiring introduction to the discipline of design.
