The programme manager for projects and internships will maintain and leverage an expanding network of design industry contacts with the aim of developing student projects, exercises, and assignments that reflect the challenges faced by practitioners. The ideal candidate will be adept in network building and have the ability to translate relevant design problems into tangible student projects and assignments. The programme manager’s work will help bring real world urgency into the classroom and create pathways for interesting internship experiences. Primary responsibilities will include:
• Building a thriving network of design, architecture, and planning industry professionals throughout Ahmedabad and other Indian cities
• Developing classroom level assignments and projects based on input from industry practitioners
• Working closely with the career services team to establish a diverse array of internships
• Coordinating with course instructors to anticipate and develop classroom projects
• Developing a strategic plan to meet the expanding need for new projects and internships for a growing student body
• Briefing the academic head on programmatic progress, hurdles, and new opportunities

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, postgraduate degree preferred
• At least 5 years of work experience in the design industry
• Demonstrated ability to network and develop diverse industry contacts
• Some classroom or professional academic experience a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel regionally or nationally up to 25% of the time
